207-431-2432 Now A Closed Cattery
We have decided to become a closed Cattery, which means no visitors for deposit or to view cat for possible deposit. We only allow you to visit Cattery on pick up day to come and get kitten. To determine which kitten you’d like to pick out we can send many photos and videos or even do Zoom/FaceTime. We have found this to be the healthiest option going forward for our cattery. Our cats and Kittens health is our top priority and we have found there to be too many viruses and illness out there that may affect them.
Anyone who enters the cattery must wash hands and do proper sanitation measurements to insure no bacteria is spread throughout our home And to the cats. We ask you only pick up the kitten that is going home with you. We have the main living area open to guests only.
Here at CentralMaineCat Cattery our number one goal is healthy purebred cats and kittens. We currently operate from Madison Maine USA and travel 1 hour to a cat savvy vet as needed to insure our cats are up to date with their vaccinations and healthy during wellness visits. We are certain that all our animals health needs are met before they leave our Cattery, as we will send home with you all the proper paperwork and records of your new kitten. Kittens are ready to go home after 12 weeks. We will also send you home with a few instructions on how to properly settle him/her in their new home easier. Each kitten will be wormed and treated for fleas/ticks at the proper ages our vet recommends. Our top priority is to raise Healthy well mannered kittens. Our breeding cats are all TICA registered. All kitten litters will be registered through the TICA website. Our kittens get all the shots recommended including their 3 rounds of distemper, rabies, and parents have been tested for FeLV and FIV. We can have your kitten tested if requested. All kitten related paper work will be sent home with you, including vet visit information. All kittens have a one year warranty from purchase date for one year against genetic defects.
We highly recommend taking your new kitten to your vet within 72 hours of being in their new home. Pet insurance is also a wonderful thing to have set up for your babies as it protects many costs in emergencies or just normal routine visits.
British Shorthairs have a wonderful temperament and will fit into almost any home! We take pride in making sure our kittens go to their forever homes, FOREVER! Central Maine Cat will not sell any kittens to those who cannot provide their vets information.
An application will be needed when the waitlists open for you to be considered a new kitten parent. To become a qualified candidate please provide as much information as you can In this application, the more the better! :)
Any pet will take time to settle into a new home, so please use the 3/3/3 rule to allow them to adjust to your new home. It can take weeks to months.
Centralmainecat and Owner Hannah Denico reserves the right to post content of ALL Kittens to her social media, even after deposit and final purchase sale.
The feline herpes virus is something cats can be born with or contract from other cats and can cause to have flare ups of due to stress of moving into a new home, illness, or weak immune system and show up as URI. Some catterys will call this the “cat cold”. This shows up as sneezing, coughing, runny nose, runny eyes, clearing throat and nasal passages. This can sometimes progress into worsening health conditions if you haven’t properly vaccinated your cat or taken them to a vet for a check up. Sometimes antivirals or antibiotics are needed but most times it’s all about the cat getting over it themselves. Supplements are great to have to boost immune system. This can possibly be prevented by vaccinating with the distemper vaccine but is not 100% effective and is transmittable through cat to cat. Before you have a new cat enter your home you should always be up to date on your vaccinations. Centralmainecat and Owner is not responsible for you as a pet owner not vaccinating your pets if that may be the case, and is not responsible for any vet bills or liability if your pet gets sick after taking home one of our kittens and signing our contracts. *Please read this for educational purposes*
